Remote Meter Reading Service for Electricity Producers
We provide a remote electricity metering service for renewable energy and other electricity producers, including owners and operators of solar parks, wind farms, hydroelectric power plants and bioenergy plants. The service includes the automated collection, storage and transmission of electricity production and consumption data to Elering’s Estfeed Datahub.
The electricity meter records measurement data at 15-minute intervals. Our remote meter reading system automatically retrieves the data from the meter four times a day and transmits the previous day’s measurement data to Elering’s Estfeed Datahub once a day. The measurement data is also available to the customer.
Data communication between the electricity meter and our server is provided either via our own communication connection or, at the customer’s request, using the customer’s internet connection.
To provide the service, we use modern Iskraemeco electricity meters, including models from the AM550, IE5 and IE7 series. The meters store measurement data in their internal memory at 15-minute intervals, ensuring that the data is retained and remains available even in the event of a temporary interruption in the communication connection. Measurement data is retained in the meter’s memory for at least three months.

The electricity meters used for the service are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with the requirements of the European Union Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) and are suitable for billing purposes. The available range includes both meters for direct connection to low-voltage networks (3 × 230/400 V) and meters designed for connection via voltage transformers (3 × 58/100…240 V).
The service is particularly suitable for electricity producers that are required to ensure compliant electricity metering and transmission of measurement data in order to receive renewable energy support or meet other regulatory requirements. The service can also be used at electricity generation sites connected via a direct line.
